WARRIOR is the oldest brand of Port in the world, having been shipped continuously since the 1750’s.
The name Warrior was branded on the casks of Warre’s finest Reserve Ports since the earliest days of the firm. The traditional style has been maintained over the years and it is today a classic full-bodied wine with wonderful richness and balance. Warrior is drawn from Quinta da Cavadinha and Quinta do Retiro Antigo, Warre’s finest quintas in the Pinhão and Rio Torto valleys that produce Warre’s classic Vintage Ports.
The firm’s head winemaker, Peter Symington, selects lotes of particularly rich and fruity Reserve Port to set aside for maturing in oak casks in the lodges at Vila Nova de Gaia. When the wines have reached perfect maturity, they are bottled to produce the award-winning Warre’s Warrior, one of the finest Ports available for everyday drinking.
In keeping with its tradition of innovation, Warre’s recently launched a completely redesigned Warrior in the demanding UK market. You can click here to read all about it.
Food pairing suggestion: Warre’s Warrior is delicious served at the end of a meal, for example with rich, nutty or chocolate desserts, as well as strong cheeses. Although usually served at room temperature, Reserve Ports are equally delicious when served slightly chilled in hot weather.

“Smooth and supple, almost buttery right out of the bottle, this hits the spot with butterscotch, cherry tobacco, vanilla and bourbon barrel flavours”.
